ABOUT STUDIOWORK MENTORSHIP SESSIONS
This is not a group class! StudioWork sessions are one-on-one online sessions designed to meet students where they are in their practice and address any technical questions or mindset challenges that might be holding up progress and limiting growth as a working artist.
This program was originally only available for students who had already taken Sky & Clouds & Land & Air Online Workshops, level 1 &2 but IT IS NOW OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS WORKING IN ALL MEDIUMS AND SUBJECTS!
StudioWork Mentorship Sessions can be used just like Check-Ins during SCLA, complete with virtual photoshop painting on your current work and weekly assignments to keep students accountable to the skill-building goals of their practice. Sessions can also be used to shape your future goals and coach you through some of the more challenging aspects of being a working artist like:
creating a coherent body of work
developing and optimizing your studio workflow
planning & curating your new work for an upcoming exhibit or online sale
working through artist’s block or any mindset issues related to your practice
moving from student level to professional working artist
navigating the commission process
writing about your work, your process, and yourself as an artist
building your web presence with a website and social media
navigating mindset challenges like self-doubt and developing your creative voice
articulating your process, your plan, and your path forward
STRUCTURE
Students are welcome to use session packages for short-term project support, long-term development, or any variation that works best for where they are in their process. All package options offer students consistent support, instruction, insight, and practice through weekly or bi-weekly meetings.
This kind of structured guidance has accountability and support built into it and has proven itself to be invaluable for students looking to resolve recurring obstacles once and for all and accomplish goals that lead to the most growth in their painting practice.
I take mentorship relationships seriously and have a genuine investment in the creative well-being of the people I work with. Supporting working artists of all skill and career levels in finding their singular creative voice, providing time and space to listen to mindset issues that every working artist encounters and struggles with, and doing so in the context of building a body of work are all part of the StudioWork mentorship experience.
I’m thankful to have worked with students from all over the world as a mentor/instructor over the past few years. You can count on my wholehearted engagement in our time working together. Please reach out with any questions.
